Plugging in your number

This is the step that decides the day your calls start being taken.

Updated September 2, 2026

Two ways of getting the calls in

The first is a dedicated number we assign you. It is live immediately, you can ring it yourself to hear the result, and you then choose where to publish it: on your business listing, on a website, in a campaign. Nothing changes on your existing line.

The second is forwarding your current line to that number. Your customers go on ringing the number they know, and Cantya picks up behind it. The forward is set with your carrier, and only they can tell you exactly how long it takes.

Forwarding everything, or only the overflow

A full forward sends every call to Cantya. That is the setting for people who no longer want to pick up at all, or no longer outside opening hours.

A conditional forward only sends what you do not take: engaged, unanswered after a few rings, out of hours. You keep hold of the calls you want to take, and Cantya catches the rest. It is the most common setting in the first weeks, because it asks you to give up nothing.

Frequently asked

Do I have to change carrier?
No, in either case. The dedicated number sits alongside your line, and the forward is set with the carrier you already have.
Can I keep my current number?
Yes. The forward exists precisely for that: your customers keep the number they know, and you publish nothing new.
Is there a set-up fee?
Not if you configure Cantya yourself: set-up is then free. If you hand us the full installation and customisation, they are quoted. Your carrier, though, may charge for call forwarding: that is a line to check on your contract before switching it on.
